Course objectives (competences):

Study of the materials, functionality and structure of packaging. Innovative design and prototyping of packaging. Focus on paper and plastic packaging as well as packaging for high-end products.

Course content:
The role of packaging. Packaging and product marketing. Paper and cardboard. Design principles for paper packaging. Graphics, textual information, bar-codes and brand identity. Production methods. Design of plastic bottles. 3D modeling and decoration of bottles for soft drinks, cleaning products, cosmetics, motor oils, etc. Design and analysis of caps and closures. Design and insertion of labels. Other packaging materials. Food packaging. Eco packaging.
